Ibadan airport serves the state, so air travellers can fly in. The Lagos airport is also close to this state. Corps members from a far distance can fly into Lagos and travel by road to the camp. The state is also accessible by road; buses mostly travel to the major cities such as Ibadan, Ogbomoso, Oyo, Saki and Iseyin. depending on what part of the country you are travelling from.

Oyo is a south-western state in Nigeria, with its capital as Ibadan. It is bounded in the north by Kwara State, in the east by Osun State, in the south by Ogun State and in the west partly by Ogun State and partly by the Republic of Benin. Oyo state consists of 33 local government areas.
People and Culture
The state which is homogeneous is predominantly occupied by Yoruba people. Within the State, however, there are sub-ethnic groups with distinct dialect peculiarities. Agriculture is the main occupation of the native people of Oyo State. They grow crops like maize, yam, cassava, millet, rice, plantains, cocoa, palm produce, cashew etc. Popular traditional cuisines are amala, ewedu and gbegiri; eko and akara.
Geography and Climate
The topography of the State is of gentle rolling low land in the South, rising to a plateau of about 40 metres. The State is well drained with rivers flowing from the upland in the North-South direction. Oyo State has an equatorial climate with dry and wet seasons and relatively high humidity. The dry season lasts from November to March while the wet season starts from April and ends in October.

Important cities and Town include; Ibadan, Oyo, Ogbomoso, Iseyin, Okeho, Saki, Igboho, Kisi, Igbo-Ora, Lalupon, Fiditi, Ilora, and Eruwa. Attraction sites include Zoological Garden, University of Ibadan, Agodi Gardens, Ibadan; Cocoa House, Old Oyo National Park, Irefin Palace, Cultural Centre etc.

Interesting Fact
As a Pacesetter, Oyo state has recorded many firsts which include the first university in Nigeria; the University of Ibadan, the first skyscraper in Africa; cocoa house, and the first TV station in Africa; NTA Ibadan.
