Traveling to Enugu State
The state is accessible by road from most states, especially to the state capital, Enugu. Travellers by air can get to the state via the Akanu Ibiam International Airport also known as Enugu airport. The NYSC camp is located at; NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Awgu Local Government Area. Travellers to the Camp will have to get to the state capital before going to Awgu.

Located in southeastern Nigeria, its capital is Enugu where the state derives its name. It shares boundaries with Anambra on the West, Abia State on the South, Kogi on the North while Benue and Ebonyi are on the East. Enugu and Nsukka are its major towns. Enugu has good soil-land, is mainly agrarian, and enjoys a tropical climatic condition all year round. The state consist of 17 local government areas.

People and Culture
Enugu has a mostly homogenous ethnicity; the people are mostly Ibos, known for their enterprising spirit. The state also has other minority groups. Enugu is also home to the highlife genre of Nigerian music. The state is highly agrarian with yam tubers, palm produce and rice being the main produce. The State is also popular for its new yam festival.

The state is known for its undulating hills, and has large deposits of coal, other minerals include limestone, iron ore, crude oil, natural gas and bauxite.
There are two distinct seasons: the periodic rainy and dry season separated by the dusty Harmattan weather. The city’s mean temperature of 26.7°C.

Tourists attractions in the state include Ezeagu Tourist Complex—a complex made up of a waterfall, a three-kilometre cave, natural spring and a lake; Awhum Water Fall and Cave; Akwuke-Atakwu Beach; Ngwo Cave, Pine and Waterfall.
Prominent institutions of higher learning in the state include University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Enugu State University of Technology (ESUT), and the Institute of Management & Technology (IMT).

Interesting Fact
Enugu is regarded as the southeastern capital of Nollywood due to its popularity as a filming location. Nkem Owoh (Osuofia), Chiwetel Ejiofor, Patience Ozokwor, Zack Orji, Jidenna, and John Okafor are a few among many entertainers from the state.
