Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu serves Abakaliki the state capital; Enugu is the nearest airport to Ebonyi. The state capital is accessible by road to road travellers. Buses going to the camp can be found in Abakaliki.

Ebonyi is a state in southeastern Nigeria. Its capital and largest city is Abakaliki. 
Other major towns include Afikpo, Unwana, Onueke, Edda, Onicha, etc. It was created in 1996. The State shares a border with Benue State to the North, Enugu State to the west, Imo and Abia States to the south and Cross River State to the east. Ebonyi is divided into 13 local government areas.

People and Culture
The state is predominantly dominated by the Igbos with other minority ethnic groups from neighbouring states.
The people of the state are predominantly farmers and traders. The main crops produced in the state are rice, yam, palm produce, cocoa, maize, groundnut, plantain, banana, cassava, melon, sugar cane, beans, fruits and vegetables. Fishing is also carried out in Afikpo.

Geography and Climate
The tropical climate of the state is broadly of two seasons which are the rainy season between April and October and dry season between November and March. The temperature throughout the year ranges between 21 °C to 29 °C and humidity are relatively high.
The state enjoys luxuriant vegetation.

A few of the beautiful sites in Ebonyi include Amanchore Cave, Unwana and Ndibe Sand Beaches, Abakaliki Green Lake, Ogbodu Conical Mound: Slave Market Route, Ezza, Natural Rock Formations, Akpoha.
Universities in Ebonyi include Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State University.

Interesting Fact
Ebonyi is called “the salt of the nation” for its huge salt deposit at the Okposi and Uburu Salt Lakes.
