Traveling to Bauchi State
The NYSC camp is located at; NYSC Permanent Orientation camp, Kilometre 60, Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Council, Bauchi State.

Travellers can travel by air to the Bauchi state international airport in Bauchi. The state is accessible by road; travellers can travel to the city of Bauchi, then find their way from there by connecting to the NYSC camp from the state capital via shuttle buses.

Bauchi State is a state in northern Nigeria. Its capital is the city of Bauchi. The state was formed in 1976 as part of the former North-Eastern State.
The state is bordered by, Kano and Jigawa state to the north, Taraba and Plateau state to the south, Gombe and Yobe states to the east and Kaduna state to the west. Bauchi state consists of 20 Local Government Areas.

People and Culture
Bauchi has a total of 55 ethnic groups which include Hausa, Fulani, Gerawa, Sayawa, Jarawa, Bulewa, Kare-Kare, Kanuri, Warjawa, Zulawa and Badawa. These ethnic groups have varied customs, culture and beliefs. Bauchi state is an agricultural state. The people are mostly farmers. Their agricultural products include maize, rice, millet, groundnut and guinea corn. Cattle and other livestock are also reared in the state.

Geography and Climate
Bauchi enjoys both a tropical climate and a subtropical climate. As such, the state has two distinctive vegetation zones: the Sudan savannah and the Sahel savannah. The Sudan savannah type of vegetation covers the southern part of the state. The Sahel savannah manifests from the middle of the state to its north.
The rainy season starts earlier in the southern part of the state (April) than the northern part of the state (June/July); the volume of rain also varies.  The temperature here averages 25.3 degrees Celsius.

The notable tourist attractions include Marshal Caves, Yankari Natural Park, Wikki Warm Spring, Natural Yankari Park, Lame/Bura Game Wildlife/Eco- Reserve Tourism, Geji Rock Painting Monuments.
Universities in the state include Bauchi State University, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University.

Economic Opportunities
Bauchi State’s competitive advantages include over 4.2 million hectares of arable land, two ecological zones, high deposits of solid minerals, and tourism potentials such as Yankari Game Reserve, and SumuWild Park. It is a strategic location as a gateway to seven states in the region.

Interesting Fact
The first prime minister of independent Nigeria, Alhaji Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa was from Bauchi.
