The NYSC camp is located at; NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ikenne Road, Sagamu Local Government Area, Sagamu, Ogun State. Murtala Muhammad Airport in Ikeja, Lagos is the nearest Airport that serves air travellers coming into or going out of the state.
The state is also accessible by road; buses mostly travel to major cities like Abeokuta, Sagamu, Ijebu-Ode from almost all major cities in Nigeria..

Ogun State is a state in south western Nigeria. Abeokuta is the capital and largest city in the state. It borders Lagos State to the south, Oyo and Osun states to the north, Ondo to the east and the Republic of Benin to the west. Ogun state is made up of 20 local government areas.
People and Culture
The Yorubas are the main ethnic group in Ogun State, comprising of several dialects such as the Egba, Ijebu Oyo (Owu), Awori, Ikale and Ilaje. Some aspects of the culture of the people in the state include traditional arts such as adire, carving, sculpture and smithery amongst others.
Agriculture as an economic mainstay employs a large population of Ogun state, cultivating; rice, maize, cassava, yams, plantains, bananas and other crops. Cocoa, kola nuts, rubber, palm oil and palm kernels, tobacco, cotton, and timber are the main cash crops.
Due to the state’s proximity to Lagos, it is also becoming highly industralized.
Geography and Climate
The climate of Ogun State follows a tropical pattern with the raining season starting about March and ending in November, followed by dry season.
The average monthly temperature ranges from 23°C in July to 32°C in February. The vegetation is mainly of derived Savannah vegetation, while the Central part falls in the rain forest belt. The southern part of the State has a mangrove swamp.
Notable Places
Important towns in the state include Abeokuta, Ijebu-Ode, Sagamu, Ikenne Remo, Ilaro, Ijebu-Igbo, and Aiyetoro. Notable sites and experience: Olumo Rock, Omo Forest Reserve, Olowu Palace, Alake Palace etc.
Ogun State’s proximity to Lagos has seen it grow as an industrial area with centres such as Agbara Industrial Estate.
Higher institutions in the State include the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta; Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye; and privately owned institutions: Babcock University, Ilisan-Remo; Bells University of Technology and Covenant University, both in Ota.
Interesting Fact
Olumo rock, in Abeokuta is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nigeria. Abeokuta derives its name which means “Under the rock” It was used as a fortress by the Egba people in the early 19th century
