Traveling to Gombe State
The NYSC camp is located at; NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, Science Technical College, Amada, KM 21, Gombe-Bauchi Highway, Near International Airport, Gombe State.
Gombe Lawanti International airport serves air travellers travelling in and out of the state. It is easy to get a cab from the airport to the camp.
There are buses that travel from most parts of the country to Gombe City; there are buses from the capital that travel to the orientation camp.

Gombe is located in the northeastern part of Nigeria; its capital is Gombe City.
The State was formed in October 1996 from part of the old Bauchi State.
The state shares a border with Borno, Yobe, Taraba, Adamawa and Bauchi states. Gombe has 11 Local Government Areas and 14 Emirates /chiefdoms.
People and Culture
Gombe State is a multi-ethnic state; it consists of the dominant Fulani tribe, and Tangale, Other ethnicities include the Hausa, Tera, Waja, Bolewa, and Kanuri.
Farming is the main occupation of the people of the state and crops produced include cassava, yam, rice, maize, guinea corn, beans, soya beans, asha and millet. The state is blessed with precious mineral resources like columbite, coal and aquamarine.
Geography and Climate
Gombe has two distinct season climates—the dry season between November and March; and the rainy season between April and October—typical of the tropical climate across the rest of the country.
The average annual temperature in Gombe is 25.4 degrees Celsius. It has a sprawl of savannah vegetation.
